Frequently Asked Questions
If you’re looking for a little insight into therapy at Glasslake counseling, these FAQs may offer some information.
Soho therapy and counseling, commonly asked questions:
What will my first session be like?
The first session will be a chance for us to get to know each other a little bit and see how we feel as a working team. We will also explore areas that you are interested in working on and if we would like to proceed together in the work.
Do you talk or do I just talk?
My view of therapy is that it is a collaborative experience. The focus will be on your issues first and foremost but if I see something that I think we should look into, I usually speak up so that we can look at it together.
Are you currently taking new patients?
Yes, I am currently taking new patients at this time.
How long do I have to wait to schedule an appointment?
You can schedule your first appointment right away as long as I have the availability for the time you need. Email or text are the best way to reach me to schedule initial phone consultation and scheduling.
Do I qualify for therapy?
If you feel like there’s something you want to work on or some experience you would like to understand then you qualify for therapy. If you are looking to have more meaningful experiences but nothing in particular feels “wrong” you probably still qualify for therapy, It’s an investment in yourself.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not take insurance. I will help provide you with a super bill if you would like to get out of network reimbursement. I can also speak to your insurance company if you need me to but I do not take reimbursement from insurance companies.
What are your fees?
I currently charge $200 per hour for individual counseling. I am able to offer a sliding scale for a small population of my caseload or if you are willing to meet me during the day time.
Do I have to lie down on a couch?
Nope, not unless you really want to.
Is the information I share with you confidential?
Yes it is. There are a few exceptions to that rule, which are usually about expressing interest in harming yourself or others. We will get into that more in depth in the first session.
